As a community-based youth development organization in Boston, The BASE plays an outsized role in the city’s civic leadership realm. Indeed, The BASE is much more than a youth-serving nonprofit organization – our leadership team and Board of Directors engage on critical issues and cultivate strong connections to leaders in the political, philanthropic, and business sectors, making The BASE a catalyst for action on behalf of Boston’s urban core communities and residents.<\/p>\n

We purposefully engage and educate business and civic leaders, so they understand investing in urban youth is not just a smart investment, but a necessary investment if we want to continue to grow and thrive as a city and region.<\/p>\n

We believe the inequitable accumulation of wealth, uneven distribution of opportunity, and resulting disparate outcomes we see in Boston and cities across the country can and must be addressed and reversed. And it is all of us, here and now, that must step up to make the changes we seek to see in the world. Through public speaking engagements, private resource development, and vocal advocacy on behalf of our communities, The BASE is leading and bringing others along in this critical fight for racial equity and social justice.<\/p>\n

Clifford Park sits at the geographical center of Boston and provides space for play & leisure activities for the local community. In April, 2025, the City of Boston broke ground on a complete renovation to ensure this vital urban park can be enjoyed by all, as one of the city’s most accessible and beautiful public spaces. Our local youth and families deserve nothing less.<\/p>\n
